Sailing Services

Welcome to our Services Page...
Here you will find the names and contact information for vendors we and other cruisers have found to be honest and reliable.  If you've had good or bad experiences with any vendors or are pleased or displeased with work performed on your boat, please go to our Visitors Log and let us know so we can pass on the information.

We're currently compiling the list of companies we worked with while doing our refit of Sea Wolf and will adding to the current list on a weekly basis.  If you have a special need, let us know and we'll do our best to help you find what you need.

Hurricane Cove Marina, Miami River, Miami.  Hurricane Cove is one of the few do-it-yourself yards left in Miami.  We spent almost 5 years at Hurricane Cove doing the refit and living in the marina.  The marina is not in the best of shape but they are working on fixing it up.  The travel bay will now haul up to a 23 foot wide boat, so some multihulls can be accommodated.  Their rates are good and they can supply all of your do-it-yourself needs.  They also have workmen available for those that do not want to do the work themselves.

Bob Campbell was our GC during the refit of Sea Wolf.  He works out of Hurricane Cove Marina, is extremely knowledgeable and does excellent work, but takes on too much work and can't keep to a schedule.  If you don't have a strict time table and don't mind everything taking longer than anticipated, you'll be pleased with what Bob can do.  You can reach him by contacting Hurricane Cove Marina.

Ricky Smythe was our carpenter during the refit of Sea Wolf.  He works out of Fort Lauderdale Marine Center and is a fantastic carpenter.  We've published photos of Sea Wolf's interior shortly so you can see for yourself the quality of his work.  Take a look at our Sea Wolf Page and see if you don't agree.  If you're in the Fort Lauderdale area and need a good carpenter, let us know and we'll pass your info on to Ricky.

Sailing Services, Miami.  We used Sailing Services for our rigging and equipment purchases during our refit of Sea Wolf and they helped with all aspects of the rigging design and implementation.  We're convinced they have the best industry contractors in the Miami area and we were extremely satisfied with their service.

Bremen Sails. are located at 2760 NW 22nd Street, Miami, FL 33142 .  Bremen doesn't have a website yet but you can reach them by phone (305-635-1717) or email (bremensails@hotmail.com).  They were highly recommended to us by several people and companies, including Sailing Services and we couldn't be more pleased with the work they did for us.  They repaired, cut down and made new sails for us, as well as designing and making a cover bag for our sailing dinghy, so we have worked with them on all phases of sails and canvas work.  Couldn't be happier with them and their work
